Legendary filmmaker Artavazd Peleshyan receives “Lifetime Achievement Award” in Amsterdam

YREVAN, NOVEMBER 22, ARMENPRESS. Legendary Armenian director of essay films, screenwriter Artavazd Peleshyan received the “Lifetime Achievement Award” at the International Documentary Filmfestival Amsterdam (IDFA), reports kinoashkharh.am.

The European premiere of his film Nature (La Nature) took place on November 19 on the sidelines of the IDFA.

Peleshyan was not fortunate enough to get the award personally due to health concerns. However, the director general of the Fondation Cartier pour l’art contemporain de Paris Hervé Chandès and the director Andrei Ujika came to the Festival to get the prize in place of the legendary filmmaker.

The world premiere of the film Nature was held at the New York Film Festival-59. Created by the Cartier Foundation, Nature brings together nature-loving snapshots, such as volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, tsunamis and the awe-inspiring landscapes of the Internet, juxtaposing the irresistible force of nature with human ambition.
